Though I was feeling poorly in Creative Writing today (I left school immediately after because I have pink eye! ), I was not too badly off to listen in on conversations. My teacher had just given the assigment to write down your favorite children's book and why, so...M. decided to write about how she loved Miss Felicity Merriman's stories. And then she mentioned that she had had a Felicity doll. Then S. mentioned she had had a Samantha doll....and then I mentioned to M. that I had LOVED the American Girl books when I was younger. It's too bad that I forgot to mention that I still LOVE my 11 dolls!

On Thursday at lunch I mentioned AGs and a friend said she has 3 that she got a long time ago.

Hmm...wouldn't that be funny if those girls are still into their dolls, too? Maybe all of you are going home from school and playing with your dolls but still saying you loved AG "when you were younger" because you all think you're the only ones. I wonder about that, because when I'm around people I don't know well I'll say things about having loved AG "when I was little" if the topic ever comes up. I always wonder if other people that say things like that really have 18 dolls at home that they still love, too.

So sorry about your pink eye.
But - what fun to discuss some of our favorite book characters in class!! You should have asked them if they still had their dolls. Perhaps you're surrounded by people just waiting to come out of the closet!

I sometimes put it into past tense too. That is something to think about.
